The oil tube was invented by Paramount electric in order to get around the NOMA patent using Methylene Chloride.  It was introduced for Christmas of 1947.  These bubble lights were called "Crystal Snow" and had tall 4 inch tubes.  Christmas by Carlisle is now manufacturing oil tubes with much more vibrant and better colors.  The bubbles are small and dance slower; another mesmorizing bubblelight.
